Litter around the donation box - Mississauga

Donation Dilemma

I was in Mississauga two days ago and came across this donation box from B’nai Brith Canada that was covered in litter and damaged by the rain. It’s really unfortunate to see something like this, especially when it’s supposed to be for a good cause. I’m hoping that by bringing attention to this issue, we can help prevent it from happening in the future. If you’re in the Mississauga area and see something like this, please don’t hesitate to report it to B’nai Brith Canada or to your local authorities. Let’s work together to keep our community clean and safe. I’ve emailed them as well.

Here are few things we can do to help and/or prevent this in future.

  1. Be mindful of your surroundings and try to keep the area around donation boxes clean. If you see litter or debris near a box, consider picking it up and disposing of it properly.

  2. Report any damage or maintenance issues to the organization that owns the boxes or to local authorities.

  3. If you are planning to donate items to a box, make sure to properly package them to protect against the elements.

  4. Encourage others to be respectful of donation boxes and to report any issues that they see.

  5. Consider donating items directly to a charitable organization or thrift store rather than using a donation box. This can help ensure that your donations are properly handled and used to benefit those in need.
